To help you reduce the complexity and time-consuming return task, we have introduced gift card refunds for both COD/ Prepaid orders. This will help you to provide fast and same-day refund resolution to retain your customers.

To automate the issuing of gift cards for refunds, you will need to follow these 2 simple steps:

  • Create a gift card on your Shopify Store
  • Enable the created gift card on Shipway

 

 

How to create a gift card on Shopify for same-day refund?

  1. Begin with Logging In to your Shopify Store.
  2. Move to Products on Dashboard > Gift cards > Gift card products > Create gift card product

3. Fill all the required fields to Create a Gift Card Product.

4. To activate the created gift card product select its status active.

5. Make sure to untick the Online Store from Sales Channels and Apps section, else this Gift Card will be visible to your customers for purchase on your online store.

6. Click on the Save button to save the created gift card. Copy the gift card product URL, also available at the All Products List.

How to Enable the Created Gift Card on Shipway?

  1. To enable the created gift card product, Log In to Shipway Panel.
  2. Move to Returns > Settings > Rules > Gift Card Refund
  3. Enable the gift card option > Paste the gift card product URL in the provided field. 

How to issue a Gift card with the Shipway backend?

  1. Simplify your refund process by issuing the gift card refund directly at the time of Resolution.

2. Issue Gift card in place of store credits.

How will your customers receive a Gift Card?

Your customers will receive the issued gift card for their same day refund via email and SMS, which will appear as the GIF displayed below.

Points to Remember:

  • Recently, Shopify has enabled the feature of Gift Card for all their plans, which is exclusive for their Shopify plans above Shopify Basic. This means that Shipway’s Gift Card as Refund will not be available to the new Shopify Basic Users.
  • Your customer can use the Gift Card in more than one purchase, only if the total balance is not used. For example, a customer is issued a Gift Card of Rs.500 as Refund, and he uses the gift card for his next purchase worth Rs.300, he will still be able to use the remaining worth of the gift card (i.e, Rs.200) for another purchase.

  • Issuing a Gift cards is a liability for businesses, we don’t claim sales against the Gift card.
